Welcome to the month of August, thank you for being an endless source of inspiration and being part of this community.

Our focus this month will be functional movement in our yoga practices to continue to strengthen our ability to perform everyday tasks safely, efficiently and sustainably. A functional approach in yoga, emphasizing controlled movements that transpire into everyday life, such as walking, squatting, bending, lifting, and reaching. The integration of stability, mobility and flexibility supports natural movement patterns and helps us adapt to the physical demands of daily life, and minimizing the risk of injury.

Yoga Therapy
The Yoga Therapy class continues to grow and evolve, they offer a comprehensive range of tools that address various aspects of our present health. This yoga therapy practice has appropriate modifications for participants’ unique bodies and medical histories, with a practice of calming breath to be aware of the connections within. Private sessions are also offered so you can focus on your needs one-on-one.
Recently a couple of the students have moved on with confidence to the morning classes, congratulations to Theresa and Cheryl!
Please feel free to inquire for more information about this class or have a consolation with me.

Moving forward to June at the studio where each practice is an opportunity to explore something new. Allow this openness to new experiences to extend where we find a supportive community at Bodhi Tree. This sense of belonging and shared purpose fosters a collaborative learning environment where we can exchange ideas, experiences, and knowledge. Social connections are vital for our wellbeing and can enhance cognitive function through shared learning experiences.
As June unfolds the warmer weather will allow us the use of the west lawn at the studio for outdoor yoga!

Lunch Time Learning
Myofascial Therapy for Balancing and Healing your Body

Special Guest: Sandra Whiley
Monday June 10 11:00-12:30
You're invited to learn what myofascial release is and why it matters. Here we will discuss the method in working with our fascia, a body wide connective tissue which provides movement in all your life’s activities. Yoga practice and many other types of movement exercises express how the fascia integrity is felt, limited, or restricted through movement.
This is a great opportunity for a practical understanding of myofascial release method, and for questions about how to receive manual care to increase expansion.

Sandra Whiley is a massage therapist with advanced skills appropriated through various certifications in myofascial release method. She has 24 years in practice and currently is practicing in Sequim and Poulsbo locations.

An Evening of Yin
Wednesday June 12
5-6pm
A transition from your day into the evening can help calm the mind and prepare the body for good night’s sleep. Yin yoga specifically is a deeply grounding and soothing style of yoga involving long static holds that are deeply breath-focused. This style of yoga helps to soothe the nervous system and ground excess mental energy so that we can sleep better, longer, and deeper. Enjoy this evening's YIN YOGA  when you feel like you need a dose of relaxation.

Private personal sessions and small group sessions are available in studio. These sessions help you to develop a practice in service of your body. Each session is designed based on your abilities, goals and needs to help you progress toward improved health and well-being. A plan is developed to support your needs and goals.
Email me privately to set up your sessions.

May every sunrise hold more promise and every sunset hold more peace.

In our yoga practice, we can set an intent, it is through this quiet act of open receptivity that we slowly begin to see progress unfold. This is true in our own lives as well. This month we will discover the power of setting an intention and use this powerful tool for connecting more deeply with our bodies and developing a more mindful approach in our own practice every day.

Register with Momoyoga for all Lunchtime Learning Sessions.

And just like that, Winter opened cold bleary eyes to the newborn colors of spring.
The energy of spring brings a freshness and new beginnings.  Each time we arrive to our mats we can bring this idea into our practice.  Welcome to the studio this month as we continue to move our bodies through our poses, this asana practice which provides us time to observe and experience our own process.  This dynamic practice of balancing ourselves.

Lunchtime Learning
Yoga for Gardeners:  Monday the 8th    11am-12:30
Spring has sprung! The time to tend to your garden, it’s a labor of love — emphasis on the word “labor,” especially when the constant bending over or being on your hands and knees starts to impact you. Common pain points can include the lower back, wrists, shoulders, knees, and neck. This class will help you develop a routine to help build strength in the most-used areas, and prevent injury, as well as stretching to release tensions.

Yoga for Golfers Monday the 15th   11am-12:30
Yoga for Golfers to improve your game and find balance physically and mentally. Working with your core stability to increase your golf swing, increase range of motion, build awareness of muscular imbalances and prevent injury.  We will work with the hips, the shoulders, and flexibility of the spine. This Yoga for Golfer’s is a fantastic session! Appropriate for all types. A class for everybody, including non-golfers!
