This class provides more variability within your yoga practice. Always working with the breath, always a relaxation at the end. ENJOY Tuesday 9:00am-10:15:Thrive: Yoga and Strength Training Our bodies naturally experience changes in our 40s, including loss of bone density and muscle mass, which can leave us feeling less energetic or more prone to injury. Strength training is a proven way to combat these effects. It stimulates bone growth, reducing the risk of osteoporosis, while preserving lean muscle mass and improving metabolic health. By the time you are in your 70s, you may have only half the muscle weight you did in your 20s. Using free weights or extra resistance can be therapeutic to correct muscle imbalances. Tuesday 11:00am-12:00: Therapeutic Yoga A class that promotes self-healing, a movement-based practice for those recovering from an injury, or dealing with chronic health challenges. Each student is given personal attention with adaptations and adjustments according to individual needs for a safe practice. This class is intended to help you feel comfotable within your own body. Chairs are provided when needed. Wednesday 9:00am-10:15 Yin Yoga Yin yoga provides opportunity to learn more about our bodies. Slow-paced, as poses are held for a longer period as we target the deeper tissues of the body, including the fascia. Most Yin poses are performed on the floor and focus on a specific part of the body such as the hips, pelvis,and lower spine. The result is greater ease of motion with less effort. We feel more relaxed and lighter when we free up adhesions and “gluing” that solidify in the fascia, due to aging, injury, and lifestyle. The atmosphere of our Yin class is unhurried, and relaxed, with a focus on self-exploration and discovery. Props provided. Thursday 9:00am-10:15: Gentle Hatha An integrative and holistic practice, Yoga really trains us to notice what is happening within us, and that translates to the choices we make daily—for nourishment, sleep, relationships, and generally, how we interact with the world around us. Discover some of the health benefits of yoga that you have wanted to add into your weekly practice. 11:00-12:15 Therapeutic Yoga Every second Thursday of the month a Gentle Yin class will be aviable. Friday 9:00am-10:15: Yin Yang Yin Yang Yoga blends two styles of yoga into one practice, bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures. The practice of yin/yang yoga helps us learn about stillness in movement and the flow in stillness. Find your balance inside and out, and leave feeling good! Everybody is welcome and props are provided.
