Courage, commitment and consistency, our words for this New Year as we stay connected to our community at Bodhi Tree.  Turning to this new page collectively we continue to be challenged in many ways.    Allow your practice to carry you into 2024 to support you in a mindful and compassionate response to what life brings you.

New Class: Starting on Monday January 8th   11am-12
Mobility & Flexibility of Yoga
Beginning students often share common challenges. These may include physical limitations such as tight hamstrings and hips, weak back muscles, and lack of core strength.  This class features in-depth information on the principals of yoga, modifications for specific poses and innovative uses of props. Also the philosophy of yoga will be introduced for our own well-being.
Open to beginners and students coming back into their practice.
Yogis can use their own class pass. New students sign in up with Momoyoga.

Lunch Time Special Class Thursday January 18th 12:30pm-1:45
Save Your Shoulders in Yoga
The unique structure of the shoulder joint gives your arms a wide range of motion. In fact, the shoulder is one of the loosest joints in the body. This freedom of movement comes at a price as shoulders are vulnerable to injury. Learn how to work with your own shoulders for a safe practice. This class is open for everybody.
Yogis use your class pass and new students sign up with Momoyoga.

Full Moon Restorative Evening
Immerse yourself in the healing modalities of Restorative Yoga.
In the midst of simple candlelight in a warm, cozy environment at the studio.
Thursday January 25th at 4:30pm-6
$25.00

Looking forward to sharing 2024 with you!

I would like to thank our amazing community for raising $400.00 for our local food bank!
I hope sharing our yoga practice and raising money can continue to provide compassion for our community in the future.

Now as we continue on to December, I am very excited to continue to keep our practice going during the holidays and share special classes during this month.

Monday December 11th at 11am Functional Posture:
There is not a one-size-fits-all posture for everybody.
Certain postures can create imbalance if not approached mindfully. Posture, like alignment, should be in the service of movement, not the other way around. Functional posture allows us to move with minimal stress on the body.
Yogis can use their class passes, new students use a drop-in pass
Sign up with Momoyoga

Welcome to autumn, a season of transition and a shift from the joyous abundance of summer into a slower, introspective time.

Questions for you:
Why yoga? Why meditation? Why investigate the workings of the mind?
We could point to the research. There's a lot of it out there. We're toning our bodies, sharpening our minds, and healing from old wounds. We're growing our window of tolerance, cultivating emotional balance and slowing down our reactions to make room for skillful responses.
All the research in the world doesn't measure to what we just know each time we take a mindful breath, these practices make us feel better. Take a moment, right now and slowly inhale and exhale with your full awareness and attention. Try it again, this time with one hand on the center of your chest....Wow, that's powerful.  And so simple.

Connect with Bodhi Tree this month and check the weekly schedule which will have special themes added to our Hatha Classes. Classes and specials are posted with Momoyoga.
A big congratulations to Janice M. who won the September prize of a private session in studio.

The return of the great pumpkin contest takes place this month as you guess the weight of the pumpkin, and receive a free studio pass.

Enjoy this vibrant month with much gratitude,
Shelley

Nature amplifies the positive impact that yoga has on our mental health. Spending time outdoors can ease our busy brains and remind us of our deep and lasting roots in the natural world. Continue to enjoy your adventures out in nature and use your yoga off the mat as well during these summer months.
During our weekly schedule I will continue to add in special themes in our Hatha Classes per your requests:
Yoga to connect the feet to the deep core of our bodies, exploring shoulder stabilization in our yoga poses, and  Yin to address the hips during the Special  Blue Moon in August.
Momoyoga will insert those special themes on the class schedule.

Congratulations to Ron our July winner,  for Bodhi Tree’s unique water bottle design.
