July News
Summer living offers the opportunity to align our internal environment to the natural rhythms and cycles of nature. Find harmony within by shifting your personal yoga practice to balance the qualities evoked by the season.  Summer is the time when we put those plans into action, feeling motivated and full of energy. Gain awareness, practice listening and stretch the body in a way that supports an active lifestyle.
The studio is open on July 4th for the morning class, a fun community time for everyone!
We will continue our Therapeutic Yin Yoga class on Wednesdays at 11am, as it has introduced the benefits of Yin to many new beginners.

During our weekly schedule I will add in special themes in our Hatha Classes:
On the Road- Yoga for Travel, Yoga for Cyclists, Yoga for Walkers/ Hikers and
Yoga for Gardeners!  Momoyoga will insert those special themes on the class schedule.

I appreciate all your great comments and reviews, please put those into writing so I can add how yoga and our classes have made a difference for you. I plan to provide a new section into Bodhi Tree’s website. Email your story to the studio’s email address. Much gratitude.

Expand and embrace all that life has to offer……

This month we begin our summer activities and continue to roll out our mats to meet or rediscover the power of our yoga practice. This will be different for each of us, but what matters is that you're here and you're open to what's possible for you!  As long as we all get started, test ideas and learn from what works (and what doesn’t) we are putting into action the very teachings of yoga.
At Bodhi Tree I teach all classes for your well-being. Wellness is a daily habit. There is always something you can be doing even when away on vacation.
Congratulations to Susan G.  Winner of May’s drawing, the Bodhi Tree water bottle.
What is different this month at Bodhi Tree?
The beautiful park-like setting at Sunland allows us to take our classes outdoors as yogis choose to so. We work as a community.
New class added: Therapeutic Yin Yoga on Wednesdays at 11am
This practice provides an environment where we can spend time nourishing the deeper layers of the body and energy meridians, while incorporating a mindful practice to support calming of the mind and our nervous system. We will be addressing accessible ways to self-care, addressing inflammation and chronic tension in the fascia. There is additional instruction on the theming of the class and background of the pose or the target area. This class will be suited to my therapeutic students as well.  Props provided.
The Tuesday 9am class has a new title “Ageless Balance & Strength”
A fusion movement class designed to increase functional sturdiness, strength and balance, while adapting the poses for your body. A sequence of moves are repeated and added onto during the class that challenge strength and balance, and activate sturdiness and self-reliance in your body. Props will be supplied: weights, bands, blocks, and poles.

Gift Cards are available for Father’ Day this week.

Yoga has a great way of adapting to what it is most needed in our lives at a certain time.
Every stage of life brings about challenges and a yoga practice can help us with those testing times.  Generalizations don't always apply, but in my experience, yoga for the younger generation is often more about the physicality of the practice, a place to create energy and challenge the body. Midlife can bring some serious life demands on finding the balance in our family - raising children, taking care of aging parents, and our demanding work schedules. A yoga practice here often brings a respite to our busy lifestyle.  As the aging process continues, our yoga keeps us steady on our feet, helps us gracefully process the changes that can come with age and offers a place of non-judgement and steadiness in mind and body.
So whether the balance we seek is physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, at any age, we find that our practice in yoga can offer solutions, or coping skills.  If you are currently practicing you can attest to this and more.
In this month of May let us celebrate and share the progress we’ve made in building a more sustainable yoga practice. Bodhi Tree offers you to share your practice with a friend for free, and as May’s weather permits let us also share in the sunshine as we bring some classes outdoors!

I hope you enjoy this newsletter from Bodhi Tree.
I always love hearing from our community. Reach out anytime with your requests, questions or comments.
And I did receive many comments from yogis who walked more during this month’s challenge, noting a difference in body weight and stamina

Join me in this Heart Centered month of February for some very special yoga classes, where we step out of our mind and connect with our hearts.
This is the perfect way of inviting awareness to our heart space through the practice of yoga, we choose love as the guiding principle in life and open ourselves to a greater sense of fulfillment.
