Letting go is a difficult skill that requires deep self-awareness, willpower, and repeated practice.
We live in a society in which we try to create perfection in everything. The perfect self-image, the perfect location, the perfect career, the perfect house, and finally, the perfect life. In reality, nothing in life is perfect.
Instead of enjoying our accomplishments, we are too busy trying to find perfection. Sometimes we realize that the greatest satisfaction and success come from balance and a natural progression. It is from self-acceptance that we discover the complexities of our emotions, vulnerabilities, and imperfections; this is what creates our true authenticity. When we decide to embrace our authentic self, we give ourselves the opportunity to grow. We must learn to live our lives in gratitude.
On the mat, can you accept where you are today? Can you accept your pose and let go of perfection? Now take that concept off the mat, that is the Yoga Journey.
