Find the flow, the effortless effort, the quieting of the mind’s fluctuations. I intend to find that place each and every day on and off the mat. It is the time of the year where the welcoming of nature is so strong as it pulls me outdoors and I have found this to help quiet my mind and find the joy here in this season.
I understand that the vacations or the influx of those coming to visit now maybe distracting to your own practice or schedule. Set up a space for you to practice your yoga a few times a week in the comfort of your home or hotel is a great way to start a regular practice or add to your current routine. Personally, I have several different yoga flows or a yin practice that I do daily before I leave my house, regardless of how busy my life is. I believe that this “time” helps me experience noticeable changes even if I can only devote a small amount of time to the process. And whenever we our able to invest more, we tend to get so much more out of it.
The goal of yoga is to be free, or is it to get it right? You can't really have it both ways. Because if you choose freedom, then you may divest yourself into that crazy idea that you have to get it right. Just as we are taking our practice outdoors at the Bodhi Tree Studio, we find so much can happen in one asana/pose that we are familiar with everyday on the mat inside! No judgment, just find the joy in your practice on and off the mat, inside and outside!
