Unease, anxiety, tension, stress, worry—all forms of fear—are caused by too much future, and not enough presence. ~ Eckhart Tolle
Life is unpredictable for the most part, and although I like change because it brings a sense of excitement it sometimes feels like I am riding on a roller coaster and need a break. As I admit I become attached to how “things” are, even to the exact routine or schedule. I witnessed that in myself when I took Saturdays off and yet the Saturday’s presented great adventures!
To overcome our anxiety about the future, we need to let go of our desire to control every little thing, factor in the unexpected, embrace uncertainty and flow with life’s current because drifting out to sea by ourselves will only take us deeper into that world of fear. Focus more on the here and now, and thus make the most out of every second of our lives as well as find gratitude in what we have, without taking anything for granted. On and off the mat!
