Take as many deep breaths as necessary to feel aligned and grounded within yourself and you’ll be ready for this week’s shift. This is my advice to myself also as new doors will open as the SARC’s are closing theirs on October the 30th. This is a place that I have taught for four years and have shared many yoga journeys!
As I take time to review my own journey as to what brought me to yoga and how it changed my life, and how I teach. Here I found my first attraction to yoga was in the physical postures. During my first years I enjoyed the strength, flexibility and balance that came as result of my practice. I taught my classes in this way as well as incorporating yoga into my personal training business. I slowly started to look deeper, as my studies opened the doors to living the principles of yoga, and here history unfolded. I began to study the eight limbs of yoga which deepen my awareness of the truths of my own practice.
Yoga means union. In the West this is interpreted as the union of mind and body. While this is true, it means more than that. The unification that takes place while practicing yoga is an integration of ALL aspects of our lives. It’s this profound practice of yoga that we love, as we continue we get to know ourselves better.
I will continue with my studies in yoga to share with you in our classes, and introduce new classes, as I did in August for cancer survivors. I will continue give and teach from every aspect that I know, thank you again for sharing your yoga journey with me, and see you on mat again!
In gratitude,
Shelley
