New Year’s Resolution and Mindfulness
It is the last week of January! So where are you in the process of your New Year's resolutions? Maybe you’ve stuck with it and this is a joyous time or maybe it has been a slow, painstaking road that reveals some painful patterns you’ve cultivated in your life.
Where ever we are we know there are some light and dark places within, and maybe can we let go and find some inner peace. In those places of light and joy how about an acknowledgement before running off to the next goal, and stay here a bit longer; or can we give ourselves permission to move on and continue, even if we fell behind?
Mindfulness can be part of our New Year’s approach and then everything else falls into place, a possibility… mindfulness is being present and being aware of your body, and your surroundings. Implementing a pattern of mindfulness-based practices in everything you do is the perfect way to get back on track or to stay on track with your overall well-being.
Take notice of your surroundings and enjoy what makes you feel good.
Be present; listen to what other people are saying not what you think they are saying or what you want to say next.
Notice your body and take time to look after it.
Take note of what you are consuming and know that everything you take into your body can have an affect on how you feel both physically and emotionally.
Most of all take time to breathe and get to know you inside and out.
Changing habits is a process, be patient and mindful. Take your practice off the mat!
